Thanks to our presence on Facebook a local resource is on its way to our Society.

The Whitehorse Historical Society in Victoria offered us a pamphlet, The 18th Battalion (The Kuring-gai Regiment) Sergeant's Mess Rules, that had been donated to their Society.

In their offer sent by email they said " We know of your Society via Facebook".

Last Friday's Workshop

Around a dozen members gathered in the Society rooms last Friday for our workshop on  Social Media at KHS. It was an informal session with lots of lively interaction.

¡How does one manage Social Media? 

As the response to this session was very positive we plan to run similar sessions in the future, some of which will be BYOD (Bring your own device) workshops where members  bring along and work with their own technology.

KHS - A Social Society

Irish Day Feast at KHS

The Ku-ring-gai Historical Society is a very social place where members enjoy meeting together in person for research and education.

As the Society recognises the value of Social Media in today's world it has taken the decision to embrace these new forms of  communication. The Society is pleased to announce that, from today, it will be using this blog and a new Facebook page to provide details about Society events and as information and education resources for Society members and the community.

We look forward to reaching out to both Society members and new contacts through this blog. We hope that  you will say hello by leaving comments on our blog posts and by liking our Facebook page.
