Trove Tuesday - Christmas Trees from St Ives

For our post this week we are sharing an article from Townsville Daily Bulletin in 1953 that reports on an incident in St Ives. A search on Trove nets several articles citing instances of citizens removing flowers and trees from our local area.

Technology Special Interest Group - Thursday 12 December

At the next meeting of our group on Thursday 12 December at 1:30 pm we will be discussing how to set up a free email account.

Some of our members have also asked for a demonstration of the Flip-Pal scanner and its stitching function so we will go through this process that enables one to scan large images and then stitch them together with the software that is packaged with the scanner.

Other questions we have been asked and will try to answer are How to set a home page in your Firefox browser and How to change an image on desktop icons.

If you need a break from your Christmas preparations please consider joining us this Thursday with your tech questions.

A last Call: I have developed a list of burials for the Chatswood Catholic Cemetery (c1865-c1915). There were only 57 names in the church burial records, but I have managed to find around 150 burials. There may be many more.
Before I ‘close the books’, I am seeking informa-tion from researcher and readers on any other burials that readers may be aware of. Please con-tact the Society or me personally.
