To commemorate the Centenary of World War One, Ku-ring-gai Council will be holding Lights of our Lives,a public exhibition designed to enable the community to commemorate the First World War and the ANZAC legend, and in particular the Ku-ring-gai residents who enlisted and sacrificed their lives for Australia.
This exhibition will be based around images of the faces of local World War One veterans projected on to a large screen within a dark marquee. The images will be accompanied by words detailing their names, DOB, suburb of origin, and brief description of their war service.
We need the help of the community to collate photos of our local soldiers, doctors and nurses. If you have any photographs or artefacts that you would be happy to contribute to the exhibition please contact Rachael Thomson on 9424 0868 or at rthomson@kmc.nsw.gov.au by Monday 6th June.
